A Step by Step Guide to Successful Stock Investing with the EIP COL Easy Investment Program

(To those who wishes to read this in your preferred language, there's a pull down button on the upper left of the site that would cater to your understanding.)

Have you ever dreamed of owning a franchise of Jollibee?
Have you ever dreamed of spending 24/7 with your family
rather than getting employed 24/7?
Are you interested in making your money earn
while you sleep?
You've been wanting to invest but you don't know
with who? where? and how?

My friend, here's a solution if all of these
questions are applicable to you.

START INVESTING YOUR HARD
EARNED MONEY TODAY!
Because if not now, when?
And if not you, who?

One way is to invest in the stock market.
But before you dodge the bullet, fear not, for there's a guide
you could use in learning about stocks as you earn dividends along the way
SAFELY.
Why I emphasised on that?
The reaction of the majority of the people hearing
about investing on stocks? Super scared
with how it operates that they repel from the idea.
I was like that before. But I chose to roll up my sleeves and
know a little about it until I got hooked.
Afterwards, I was thinking that it's not that scary after all. In fact, I have never felt so driven
when it comes to "investing" until I learned
about the Basic Laws of money.
I agree with Edward Lee as he believes
that all of us need to be educated financially.
This way, we would have the advantage of combining
what we know with the single most important commodity in the universe,
TIME.

Last week, I was blessed to be able to attend a seminar that gave me an insight of what I should learn before entering any form of investment. They've taught about how Philippine Stock Market
could help overseas foreign workers to save a portion of their income and make it grow
over time. After understanding how stocks work,
a safe platform by COL Financial Philippines was offered.

"COL Financial Group, Inc. is the leading online stockbroker in the Philippines established in 1999. It aims to be the most trusted wealth-building partner of every Philippine investor by providing value driven, innovative solutions and easily accessible financial tools to help investors achieve their financial goals.

To date, COL is the fastest growing online stockbroker with over 100,000 customers and PHP 55 billion in customer assets. COL is committed to help you build genuine wealth by providing client-focused products and services."

I have a basic understanding of money that I would like to share to you. Money is a very powerful tool that may aid you in your pursuit of happiness. If you read it carefully, money should be considered the "means" to be happy. It is NOT, per se what will make you happy. Our reason for happiness differ greatly. Mine is to be "truly" rich. And when I say "truly" rich, this means, NOT being wealthy because of money but being wealthy in how many people I've actually helped and empowered to attain financial freedom. As inspired by Edward Lee himself when he gave the talk in the "free" seminar I went to, it's because of his advocacy to help Filipinos to be financially educated, that's why I'm as well, freely giving out this information. Call me a dreamer but I think if every Filipino would take the Basic Laws of Money seriously, the Philippines could also be saved, economically speaking. It's been a long time. I thought with all honesty, Philippine economy is hopeless because of the corruption. But this is our light at the end of the tunnel.

Why is the COL EIP for me?

The COL Easy Investment Program is a convenient and easy investment plan that allows you to build personal wealth in the stock market over a period of time. You no longer need to monitor your investments daily and you can take advantage of the ups and downs of the market by applying the simple strategy of peso-cost averaging.

What is PESO-COST AVERAGING?

PESO-COST Averaging is a time-tested and reliable method of investing that is easy to understand and apply. It is a personal wealth building strategy that involves investing a fixed amount of money to buy shares of stock at regular intervals over a period of time as a passive, long-term investment in the stock market.

When preparing to invest successfully with the COL EIP, ask yourself 4 questions:

1. HOW MUCH DO I WANT TO INVEST (on a regular basis)?

"Our recommended investment amount is 20% of your SAVINGS."

2. HOW OFTEN would I like to invest?

"Choose an interval that you can commit to regularly invest your fixed amount of money - weekly, monthly or quarterly."

Note: There are no penalties if you skip a date, but try to maintain the discipline to invest regularly.

3. HOW LONG would I like to continue my investment plan?

"Tip: The longer your investment plan, the greater your potential returns given the power of compounding."

4. WHAT DO I BUY?

The COL Advantage? Because Peso-Cost Averaging only works when you're invested in good companies, COL provides a Premium Growth Stock List, evaluated by our experienced analysts for you to choose from.

It is imperative to know that Filipino Overseas Workers were placed as the highest contributors to the Philippine's GNP funding it roughly around 21%. Sad to say though, only 1% of that entire 21% are investing. Presented with this data, could you imagine if the other 20% are also investing and are earning while they sleep? I believe there'll be abundance in funds both personally and economically. The investor would gain adequate amount of money (perhaps more) because of the shares bought and since the power of compounding interest is so great, you'd go for long term investing that the Philippines would benefit from its reserves as well. My own personal knowledge is limited that's why COL Financial are putting out youtube videos out there because they believe ignorance of this kind of information is hindering the Filipinos from realising the beauty of investing. Not only that, the beauty of investing EARLY is the key.

Benefits of the EIP:

1. No need to monitor the stock market. Have time for your more important priorities while enjoying the benefits of your COL EIP at the same time.

2. Minimize your risk by investing in the long-term and maximise your potential returns.

3. You only need a small amount of capital to get started. Open a COL EIP account for a minimum investment of P5,0000.

4. All these benefits of a simple and easy reliable investment strategy at the lowest-allowable commission rate of 0.25% of the stock amount purchased.

Get Started!

COL Financial Group, Inc. is the leading online stockbroker in the Philippines established in 1999.

COL is committed to help you build genuine wealth by providing client-focused products and services.

I would be posting further development in terms of my own investment sans the figures (I claim) I would make. But, if there are stocks that is not worth buying, I'd freely give out the info as given to me as well. For now, I'll establish my COL account first, give it time to earn some and then prove to you readers that it's real. Truth be told, we can all be "truly" rich altogether.

VIDEO LINE UP FOR A FESTIVE CINCO DE MAYO

Hello everybody! There's only one reason why we should be celebrating Cinco de Mayo and that is LIFE. You see, the unlikely victory of Mexicans over the French forces at the Battle in Puebla way back 1862 was short lived yet it boosted Mexican troops and Mexican morale in general. And I believe there's no other way to celebrate this than a little booze and music after a good hearty meal. Not necessarily Mexican, here's to share my new 5 additional songs in my playlist that just make me dance in an instant.

Enjoy folks!

1. LIPS ARE MOVING - by Meghan Trainor

Why is it no. 1? I just love how she embraces her true self. And not just that, she's fierce in her own cute way. My daughter loved her first featured single "All About That Bass". This video on the other hand, features the "Les Twins" and "Chachi Gonzales". They're my favourite dancers but Chachi's talent fee seemed so high probably that's why she just stretched in one part of the video.

2. SHAKE IT OFF - by Taylor Swift

Now, stress could take its toll on us. To some, they treat Cinco de Mayo as a holiday. Or, for those that are just rich and/or financially free, it's another way of partying, so, if you just have that excess baggage from the previous week, this could be a perfect song to help you shake it off your shoulders to be able to fully have fun. We call this song a G.V. (good vibes) kind of music.

3. UPTOWN FUNK ft. Bruno Mars - by Mark Ronson

This MTV was made following the old school style. Everytime I watch this, I dance with my daughter because it's very upbeat and somehow it doesn't tire us at all. Bruno Mars is truly exceptional with his talent. His MTV's too leave a mark on every fan as well. It's different from each other but it got that touch of funk.

4. FLAWLESS - by Beyonce

The new vibe that Beyonce is emitting is contagious. It's bold and empowering. If you want to be extra confident for an important Monday meeting, for a run or for a date, simply keep this latest album attune. Les Twins are here once again by the way.

5. SEE YOU AGAIN - by Wiz Khalifa

This touching single plays in the background as the last Fast and the Furious movie highlights Brian O' Conner and Dominic Toretto parting ways. It's much of a slow jam that requires lots of cool hip hop bounces. My passionate contemporary dancer friend, Crease, had choreographed a little part of this song and it just hits me straight thru.

So, there you have it, my 5 favourite hits as of Cinco De Mayo.

A FAIRY TALE POST-"50 SHADES OF GREY" ERA

Before you proceed, make sure you're over 18 or that you own a mature adult mind.

For my #laidbackTuesday video, I aim to keep it in balance and send some humour waves to those who are in need. Like and share if you agree about how today's fairy tales pretty much end up the same way. Comments are welcome too.

It's so funny because the storyteller sounded like a dainty Anna Faris. Hahahaha!!!!

"Find Your Light"

Filipinos are naturally warm, friendly and hospitable. When foreigners ask what Philippines is like, I am very proud to describe the places, the food and most of all how our culture had evolved and that how we all have become survivors. In addition, the Filipinos are undeniably amiable, talented and genuinely concerned towards others. Despite the hardships that we face, we find light in any circumstance. Probably religion is one of the reasons how we do it and why we remain so. Also, Filipinos are happy people. They may have struggles but those don't stop us from celebrating life. With that being said, one of the greatest asset of a Filipino is his smile.

Hong Kong Disneyland agrees and it encourages Filipinos to come and visit its resorts and theme parks where you could unleash the light in you . The campaign to bring out the Disney in you in the Philippines had started with this video.

Right now, there are over 200 Filipino workers who make magic everyday in Hong Kong Disneyland. Experience the world class entertainment and guest service they give. Visit us in the park today!

WHAT IS A CAVITY?

Ever wondered why your breath seems to stink with however you brush your teeth? You seem to know in yourself that you have brushed 3 times today (every after meal) but your friend prefers to whatsapp you rather than talk to you in person, the stranger sitting next to you in the mtr rather chose to stand up or you can't snag even just a date. There's got to be something wrong. Maybe... you just need to pay your dentist a visit. Watch this for it may help you become aware and motivated to do so.

Now that you are aware of what may cause it, I encourage you to mind dental health and dental hygiene as much as you would go for annual body check up. The very first means of expressing yourself is communicating orally. The least you'd like to experience is for somebody to literally cover their mouth in front of you while you talk. Never neglect oral health.

OCCUPY CENTRAL

For my #laidbacktuesday , I always aim to post videos that are informative, funny and relaxing. But for the entirety of writing and keeping a blog, I aim to inspire whoever gets to visit my site. Today, I choose this video made by a friend of what "Occupy Central" is all about.

I am writing this with an aim to clear out what truly is happening in Hong Kong since last Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Occupy Central is a form of a protest movement that had called out concerned Hong Kong citizens and residents, led by a large student body, to fight for the right to elect their Chief Executive. Under the said umbrella movement, they gathered affront the central government offices, blocking all busy streets with an aim to be heard out. Last night, they have sang the song of revolution, "Do You Hear The People Sing?" It is truly admirable how this peaceful protest had come about. The same friend of mine who shot this video took a walk in Connaught Road and witnessed how the people had come peacefully in going about their aim. He was amazed with how they have kept the streets clean and how no form of Vandalism would be seen. Each protester show concern for one another by giving food to those who have not yet eaten and to those who were there for a long time already. There was also a time that they have lit their lighters up while the night was pitch-black  and as the photos were posted up in a lot of social networks, it looked very peaceful.

Unfortunately, the Chinese administration doesn't have any reaction towards the movement nor the seated Chief Executive of Hong Kong as well which is pretty devastating to accept. If there's some agreement that's happening under the table, we don't know. In addition, a friend in China had fed me that it had cut all access to social networks and media even Instagram. For whatever reason it may be, this picture suggests that the Chinese government is feeding its people wrong information.

There are a lot who describes this Umbrella Movement (called so because protesters had brought their umbrellas as coverage from the tear gas, pepper spray, etc.,. used to disperse the illegal protest by the police) as hopeless, desperate and ambitious but seeing these efforts make me feel much in awe as I admire the Hong Kong people coming together as one. Tonight, literally, umbrellas had swarmed public roads as it rained in Central area. Tomorrow, the revolution is expected to be jam-packed because of the upcoming holidays dated Oct. 1 (National Day) and Oct. 2 (Chung Yeung Festival).

9 of The Most Creative Advertisements

Living in Hong Kong had somehow made me miss a little bit of humor, creativity and inspiration when watching TV (or every commercial, shall I say) when my time permits. Most of their advertisements here do not make sense to me at all. My husband and I think it may be due to language barrier but we both end up with the same realisation saying, "Nahhhh!!! It really is senseless."

Here's a one good example.

Will somebody please make me understand what is the sense of this ad?
I was wondering if it shows how strong Hair Jam could hold the hair up I guess.
There are also nasty ones like:

This went viral and the company was somehow asked to put this down. In the news,
a man that may be one of the Creative Team, had made public apology
about this and had cleared out that he had no intention of demeaning Filipino helpers.

In an attempt to research about creativity the other day, I couldn't help but admit, that I admire the creative directors behind the following commercials. Some of them you might find funny, offensive, delightful. Yet, may I suggest that be open to what you're about to see and if you have commercials in mind that are worth sharing in line with this, I would appreciate it if you type the links below with your comments and sources (links).

1. PooPouri - I find this ad original, funny and inventive. Despite the products main concern which is "poop", I can almost categorise this as a basic need. LOL!

2. Pfizer Ad - Every second, a human being struggles with life. And it wouldn't hurt if we could inspire somebody in our own little way everyday. Here is a reminder of that.

3. Coca-cola - Raising my hands to the roof, Coca-Cola Co. really is earning some millions in paying the most gifted advertiser there is to come up with a touching, effective and piercing-to-the-soul advertisements like this. Despite the fact that sodas/softdrinks belong to what we commonly know as "junk food", people are drawn to purchasing it still because of the subliminal message it delivers to the "mass". I guess there goes the magic word, "mass" of people who greatly belong to the middle class below. Don't you agree? Take a look at this. Workers in Dubai and their families are the target purchasing mass. Why do you think so?

4. Kingston Technology - This commercial enveloped a number of life reminders that we often ignore. Most of the time, we choose to see unfortunate circumstances as it is and often finds it hard to look beyond the bigger picture. The idea of getting hold of the memories was the perfect aim for the people to invest on Kingston USB's. Amazing!

5. Chevvy - Those people who say, "Money can't buy love." ? I get it. Though there is also a point behind the statement, "Money, when utilised very well, may be a tool to bring forth further happiness, convenience and satisfaction. All of which are mostly necessary in taking care of your family." Take a look at this commercial which serves as the best graphical metaphor for it. No need for too much words and that's how I ended up giving a congratulatory gesture by clapping in the end.

6. Naik Foundation - The very heart of the foundation was depicted in this commercial, again, without any need for words or script. The message is there, it's very clear. You'll be officially amoral if you wouldn't get the idea of the two-minutes and 6 seconds story.

7. Volvo - The steering power of Volvo is what's featured yet this commercial offers more than that. It's challenging to consider that my opinion goes: the precision of the machine's performance do not overcome man's capabilities. You have other interpretation? Don't hesitate to share.

8. Ministry of Education, Singapore - This touched me in a special way because I had become an educator myself and I've always wanted the best out of my students. Academically, I aimed for them not to ever settle for just being in the middle. I had expected a lot from each of them back then. And it's rewarding to get messages from them now, being thankful of what I insisted on in the past years. You will see in this commercial that doing your job not just because of the money involved gives you back more... that self-fulfilment that a good deed beholds and that self-achievement that you have touched somebody's life inspiring them to make a difference.

9. Thai Life Insurance - Thai people are very innovative in capturing their televiewers' hearts. There are a lot of dramatic and touching commercials they have released but this pinched my heart the most because it touched the most inevitable of all, ageing. Nobody will be exempted from dying, that's a fact. But growing old is a privilege denied to many not to mention, having somebody to take care of you when you get old falls in the same category.

SUMMER 2014 PLAYLIST

The first month of Summer in Hong Kong is here and it's time to have a makeover of that video playlist to get you up on time everyday.

1. LA LA LA (BRAZIL 2014) FT. CARLINHOS BROWN BY SHAKIRA

This first video is a mix of house music and Spanish Mardigras beats as I listen to it starring none other than Shakira. Once again, she embraces her unique gift as she dances freely featuring a football crazed MTV that even animals are into it. The World Cup is expected to open in Brazil in less than a month as it is the host for this season.

2. FIRST LOVE BY JENNIFER LOPEZ

To those who had told Jennifer Lopez, "Bitch be gone!", sorry to disappoint you. She is still a competition despite the age and a line of controversies. I particularly admire how she had sustained her taste for innovation and how she is proving that success is sweet the second time around.

The lyrics are right for her though in finding the first love so that she doesn't have to bounce from one relationship to another. Good thing for other people (Ben Affleck), they know how to channel their frustrations to something productive (the movie, "ARGO").

3. PRETTY HURTS BY BEYONCE

Miss USA competition is about to commence this June and I can't help but think about the contestants involved. Or maybe, to all the girls that aspire to be on stage in general. I am wondering how much of the truth is laid out and I agree with this video that says it all of what price you pay to just be given the label "pretty". So many that are in the limelight (beauty queens, ballerinas, actors, performers) are expected to be skinny in order to belong to the "beautiful" group.  Reality bites alright.

4. "IT'S ON AGAIN" BY ALICIA KEYS FT. KENDRICK LAMAR

I'm not a fan of the movie, "The Amazing Superman" but of Alicia Keys? No doubt. A feel good beat though there are some segments of the song (chorus) I find awkwardly tuned or put together. I love how her hair is pimped in this video. It actually reminds me of the old hairstyle that was fashioned by old school rock bands like Roxette and New Kids on the Block. But it gives her face a fresh look. This new vibe she's giving out is fab, chick and daring. I love it!

5. "SUMMER" BY CALVIN HARRIS

A perfect beat to put on this Summer is this house music bound by love, good experiences and memorable time (in lyrics) which everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY expects during this time of the year. Gather your friends, share a good time and play this music to set it all right.

6. "WE ARE ONE (OLE OLA)" BY PITBULL, CLAUDIA LEITTE AND JENNIFER LOPEZ

It's not just me who commented that Shakira had done a better World Cup anthem as this one that you are about to see is the official 2014 World Cup Song. My personal comments go:

- The beats are dull.
- Pitbull is just too fancy to sing about "being one" with the people or the sport. I don't even know if he can do any sports for that matter.
- It's not different from the songs he and Jennifer Lopez had worked on. People won't remember it as much as "Waka Waka" of Shakira previously.

Here's an overview from www.billboard.com. See for yourself. Meanwhile, here's the video and you can be its own judge. Let me know of what you think about it compared to Shakira's by commenting below.

7.  "LOVE NEVER FELT SO GOOD" BY MICHAEL JACKSON AND ADD ONS BY JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

For the lovers of life and to celebrate it as much as how Michael Jackson's fans, friends and colleagues, do in coming up with this song, listen up and get inspired on how to get immortalised. We all know that Michael Jackson had been one of the starters of MTV, left a huge influence on all musicians in the world, and most importantly, emphasised LOVE in all his works, music and dance. I admire the unity of all races that this video shows. Still, he's able to make people come together in the name of music even when he's gone. Long live MJ!

To the readers, thanks for dropping by and advanced one
to people who'll share it too because the more people who'll
watch the La La La Song by Shakira,
the more hungry children will be fed in schools
that offer free enrolment to the less unfortunate ones.
GOD BLESS US ALL.

LOOK UP

I got two videos for you for my "Laid Back Tuesday":

This video called "Look Up" had gone viral because of the fact that "ALL OF US ARE GUILTY." As the world revolves, rotates, ages and spends its days and nights, it's undeniable that all of us, the sole migrants of planet earth, spend a lot of our time nowadays dealing with technology. Not just with your gadgets but basically, everything that we do, plan, use are all inclined to technology. We plan an event thru social networks, no need for tangible invitations anymore; we pick up messages worth sharing from quotes researched online and not in books of poetry; we communicate with family and friends far away from us via Skype that the word "snail" mail had to be included in the vocabulary instead of just the usual "mail" as it was used the first time...

As for my own opinion, any invention/innovation, if used beyond its purpose, is never good at all. I've been watching the series "Almost Human" and it features a world where technology goes out of control and ends up ruling over the earth. Needless to say that it's fictional and extreme, it is alarming since the future may end up like this. Yet, it shows a balance between the benefits we can get from an advanced technology (by making every police officer or detective, the star of the series, be partnered by another policeman, provided it's an android one) and the disadvantages of going by the book since it's programmed basing their decisions to ideology. The story may be a typical sci-fi one to some people.

The point that I'm getting at is this: just know the proper use of these inventions and you'll be good. There are two things that are constant in the world, TIME and CHANGE. As time goes on, you should be able to thrive by accepting change. But that doesn't mean you would allow change to just take over your life like that (snapping fingers!)!!! Know the difference between being driven by these changes and getting controlled by it that you end up inexistent.

This next video is all about appreciating the life that you are given.

I treat this video following up the "Look Up" video because I would like to remind you of the gift you are given by the Almighty above. Most often than not, engaging to gadget usage too much is a form of neglecting what we are given to enjoy. We forget how to really live. That being said, this touching video will serve as an awakening once again of how miraculous it is to be given a beating heart to share to others as we take our one and only single journey to life.

"What matters most is not the first,
but the final chapter of your life,
which unveils the details of
how well you wrote your story."

Watch and have a good laugh with what
they had to say with some of the modern "stuff".

This will be you too .... in the long run.
But with a friend like that,
I won't mind.

Who is that most trustworthy among your friends
that you feel like you will be able to spend a 100 year old friendship with?
Do share it with him/her this post.

GIVING BIRTH THE KANDU WAY

Since today is the day that my sister gave birth to Jesse boy, my second nephew, it drove me to researching different methods of giving birth online. The very one thing that amazed me was how the Kandu family did it. This video was when she gave birth to the second one already that's why it looked easier probably. But she gave birth to the first baby at home too. Some of you expecting mommies out there (like I am currently), might want to watch this as it is different and not commonly preferred though not necessarily ineffective. I believe she's right with the right mind set, it is possible.

LIZZIE VELASQUEZ

I've been a fan of TED talks and the most recent I have encountered
was Lizzie Velasquez's story of how she had survived the world's negativity

It's that rare that there's just 3 of them who has this in the entire world.

This video for my laid back Tuesday may wake up those people

But hear out what this driven young lady has to say.

and WestJet came up with their own representation of this joyous occasion.

Very effective advertisement I must say.

PURPOSEFUL LIFE

It had been almost a month that famous social networks had been bombarded by news about Haiyan victims, issues and donation drives yet there's one (unexpectedly) that would leave a mark not only to the Philippines but to the whole world. This is Paul Walker's shout out to the Fast and the Furious fans, the last recorded video of the movie star before he passed away last November 30, 2013. Let's take a look.

Paul Walker, who just celebrated his 40th birthday, was on his way to a car show supporting Philippines, still recovering from getting hit by the super typhoon Haiyan, leaving hundreds of people homeless, hungry and sick. His friend who was driving then had lost control of the car, hit a tree and exploded instantly leaving both his friend and Paul Walker dead. The actor, famously known as Brian O'Conner, (because of his starring role in the Fast and the Furious movies) was also known of letting his Porsche be driven for extensive efforts to help out and for the car show's success.

In addition to this humanitarian deed that I would like to feature on my Laid-back Tuesday, is Angelina Jolie's moving speech for being given the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award last November 16, during the 2013 Governor's Awards, held in the Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood and Highland in Hollywood, California.

It is indeed humbling that these people don't hesitate in helping those who are in need despite the fact that they are beyond our reach in terms of status, fame and finances yet they choose to stay grounded, responsible of others and purposeful. I am in awe.

SKY LANTERN

Hogan and I were waiting for our dinner to be served for our last night here in Phuket when randomly, a man holding two big lanterns passed us.

Hogan: Babe, there's a sky lantern.
Kyte: Oh wow!
Hogan: You want to fly it? You've always wanted to.
Kyte: Wow! Really?

(There was a photo I've sent to him in whatsapp captioned, "Take me here." I know, I know, Rapunzel's death wish. Ha! But seeing this photo surely made me dream.)

Hogan: You want to?
Kyte: That would be nice. We can do it for your dad and your friends.
Hogan: Oh yeah. Come, let's do it!

It was Hogan's dad's birthday yesterday. And he passed away last 2001. My husband always describes that day as the day he never wanted to remember.

To my father-in-law, wherever you are, I am forever indebted to you and Mama Sifou for bringing Hogan here on earth. I was able to find my better half, my soul mate. I am complete because of him and he always aims to live like you. He always talks to me about the lessons you had imparted on him and the values that you've instilled on him.  I know if we will have our kids in the future, he will become a good father because of you. He wishes for me to having met you and every time, I feel the ache in his heart because he misses you and loves you a lot along with his siblings. Thank you so much. Happy Happy Birthday!

Two of Hogan's friend passed away too. One before we left for our trip and one just yesterday. To these special people along with the 10,000 plus Filipinos whose lives were spared because of the typhoon Haiyan, we have let a sky lantern fly in your honor for a peaceful journey to afterlife. To the families whose loss can never be eased by words, may light be shed upon you to be able to build up that tiny hope you are holding onto.

Haiyan aftermath

For my Laid Back Tuesday, I would like to share our first experience in letting off a sky lantern. It may have cost us only 300 Baht but there's something that felt very moving watching the lantern go. When we reached our room, my husband told me that he was thinking of bring me to the Lantern Festival for real.

But for me, it turned out, it was much better. Here's the video of a very good ender for our honeymoon trip. (Apologies for the video might be a little dark.)

"A sky lantern, also known as Kongming lantern or Chinese lantern, is a small hot air balloon made of paper, with an opening at the bottom where a small fire is suspended.

In Asia and elsewhere around the world, sky lanterns have been traditionally made for centuries, to be launched for play or as part of long-established festivities. The name "sky lantern" is a translation of the Chinese name tiān dēng. Sky lanterns have also been referred to as sky candles or fire balloons, however the latter term is also used to refer to balloon munitions used during World War II.

The Lanna people of northern Thailand use "floating lanterns" (khom loi) year round, for celebrations and other special occasions. One very important festival in which sky lanterns are used is the Lanna Yi Peng festival, which is held on a full moon of the 2nd month (Yi Peng) of the Lanna calendar (which coincides with Loi Krathong, the traditional festival on the 12th month of the Thai lunar calendar). During the Yi Peng festival, a multitude of lanterns are launched into the air where they resemble large flocks of giant fluorescent jellyfish gracefully floating by through the sky. The most elaborate Yi Peng celebrations can be seen in Chiang Mai, the ancient capital of the former Lanna kingdom. The festival is meant as a time to obtain Buddhist merit (tham bun, "fire lamps"). In recent times, floating lanterns have become so popular with all Thai people that they have become integrated into the festival in the rest of country.

In addition, people will also decorate their houses, gardens and temples with intricately shaped paper lanterns (khom fai) of various forms. It is considered good luck to release a sky lantern, and many Thais believe they are symbolic of problems and worries floating away."

MEGAN YOUNG - accident in Haiti

This should be an awakening for everybody.
There are a lot of people and kids who are in need of our help.
1 out of 7 in the whole world are said to have no
enough food to eat, there are people who don't have shelter,
who cannot gain access to safety.

And yet, we don't get satisfied with our lives,
there's too much to complain about and
there's just a lot that we don't appreciate.

Challenge to the Angels

It is very crucial to portray a Victoria's Secret Angel during the Halloween season
but despite that fact, a lot of 'em ladies and gentlegays choose this for a Halloween costume.
It continuously gets innovated every year though because of the "normal" people
adding their (because being an Angel is just extraordinary, huh!?)
own personal touch to the presented stylization.
Otherwise, what is the point of dressing up, right?
But then again, there are new creations that arise that are more daring, vulgar and adamant.
Sit down and relax as you watch this video of the The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2013.

And then there's this video of the gays
strutting it liberally that I'm sure you'll be surprised with.
They are no angels but they are as great and real.
Compare and share your thoughts by leaving a comment.
That's it for my Laid Back Tuesday. Happy Halloween y'all!
